Since our birthdays are with a week or so of each other, we decided to celebrate them together.   Tim was in charge of planning the "day" portion of our celebration and I was in charge of planning the "night" portion of our celebration.  For his portion of our time together, Tim chose to take me to the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, FL.  (www.Ringling.orgFor my portion of our time together, I had gotten us tickets to the Tampa Bay Rays game.

So, our first stop on our "birthday celebration day" was the Ringling Museum.  We had a lot of fun touring the different museum exhibits and just being able to spend time together.  About halfway through our time at the museum, we took a walk through the rose gardens.  As we were walking, we were looking at the gorgeous hybrids and different variations of roses. I was taking pictures of our favorite ones. Again, he was talking about how gorgeous the roses were, but how they paled in comparison to the beauty he sees in me. *isn't he sweet*  The next thing I know, we are in the gazebo in the middle of the garden. It was warm out, so he says "Hey, lets sit and cool off for a minute." So, I sit across from him and he starts talking about marriage and how he can't imagine spending the rest of his life without me. Honestly, I can't really recall much of what he said (that is so bad, I know)- but I do know that before I had time to take it all in, he was down in front of me, on one knee, with this grorgeous ring out in front of him saying "Jennifer Lyn, I love you! Will you marry me?" I teared up, and of course I said YES!!!!  He put the ring on my finger and we kissed and hugged. Another couple was walking by and the man said "I hope you said yes!!"  They were kind enough to take a few pictures of us.

The rest of the day was spent touring the art gallery and spending time together.  We went and had lunch at this great Dutch restaraunt and then headed back to St. Pete for the Tampa Bay Rays game.  Unfortunately, the Rays lost, but it we still had a really great time at the game.  After the game, We the Kings played a concert on the field, that was a lot of fun as well.

So, what started out as a "dual birthday celebration" day turned into a "I can't wait to spend my life with you, will you marry me" day!  I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, a more perfect way to get engaged, and I really couldn't ask for a more perfect man to spend the rest of my life with!
