Ceremony/Reception

Ceremony

The ceremony will be a traditional, formal, evening ceremony held at our church, Faith Baptist.  It seems like more and more couples are choosing to get married at some other destination, outside of church, but we are looking forward to keeping our ceremony very traditional, and very faith centered.

We have chosen to have an evening wedding- this way, it can be a more formal affair, and I also want to have a romantic and intimate feel to the wedding.  Because it will be dark by the time the wedding starts, we will be having lots and lots of candles all throughout the sanctury.  I have always dreamed of being married by candle light.

Because my fiance and I both have one child each from previous relationships, we feel it is very important to include them into the ceremony.  Not only will my fiance and I be making vows to each other, we will also be writing and making vows to each others child- promising to love and respect and care for them, as if they were our own child.  We will also be presenting each child with a small token gift as a representtion of our love and devotion to them.

Along with the vows, and in lieu of a unity candle, we will also be having a sand ceremony.  Each of us will have our own color sand (myself, fiance, my daughter, his son) and it will be a represntation of our families blending together as one.  I am really looking forward to this portion of the ceremony.

Reception

Yay!!  We've chosen a reception site- and it is literally 0.8 miles from our ceremony site!!  Our reception will be held at Reedeemer Community Church, which is where my brother and his fiance attend, and we are getting it for a great deal!  It is the perfect amount of space that we need!!

We haven't completely decided on whether or not we will be having a sit down meal, a buffet of heavy hor's dourves or just a dessert reception.  What we do know is that there will be grae music and lots of dancing!! Can't wait to party the night away!
